Mappoint 2009 Error with mpoai13.dll

When I launch Outlook, Word, or any Office 2003 program installed on the
terminal server for all users the error comes up with relation to the
following:

C:\documents and settings\msinclair\application
data\microsoft\addins\c:\program files\common files\microsoft
shared\geography\mpoai13.dll is not a valid office addin.

How is this resolved? I have tried removing the links to the application and
dll from the registry but error still occured.

Hi Patrick,

In Word 2003 use
Tools=>Customize=>Commands
and in the Tools section drag the 'COM Add-ins' choice to the Tools menu then close customization and use that Command to see if the
MapPoint add-in is listed as loaded and if unmarking it or moving it to a different, non-startup folder helps.

You may want to also check with the folks in the MapPoint discussion group through the link below on compatibility of the 2009
vesrion Add-in with Office 2003 and the Terminal Server version you're using.

I have a similar problem but with Mappoint 2006 on a Win XP box. I had to
uninstalled Mappoint which I did as a local admin. The user logged back in
with their domain account and now I get the same error whenever the user
tries to open and Office product. I went to the COM Add-ins button as
mentiond and the Mappoint add-in isnt even an option to choose but the error
comes up when I open up the COM Add-ins button as well.

Any direction?

I figured it out. I deleted all the registry entries that related to this
file and deleted anything related to mappoint in office addins in the
registry as well. Problem resolved.
