MapPoint

Excel 2003 worksheet has Address, City, State, Zip. Is there any way,
interacting with MapPoint, to retreive Zip code?

Yes, it is possible to interact. I just played around with it using Map
Point 2004.
Although I am not sure I understand what you mean? I thought you said you
had
Zip. Or do you mean you have everything but Zip?

Records may be incomplete. Some have Zip and some don't. I'd like to
be able to retreive the Zip code for those records where it's missing.

Adding to Peo's answer. I don't believe mappoint will provide Zip codes,
(although I work with the European version). It simply takes *in* Post
Codes (In the UK) and will not map those it doesn't recognise Admittedely
giving choices for those it doesn't recognise fully). In MP2004 you can set
it up to recognise the first line of an address though.

I suspect this may get fooled however, by the US use of PO boxes.

Peo & Nick:
Thanks for responses. Obviously, MP isn't the answer After looking at
the USPS site, I'm going to call them on Monday for suggestions.

One possible solution is at
http://www.usps.com/webtools/_pdf/Address-Information.pdf

which provides XML and VB code to interact with the USPS servers.
However it seems to have a limitation of 5 lookups per request. Since
I may only have about 1k missinf zips, I can live with that.

Anyway, will let you know what I find out.
Thanks again.
