margin brackets

I've tried everything possible to get rid of the margin L brackets top and
bottom that bracket left and right of the header and footer. I would like to
totally get rid of all signs and considerations of headers and footers unless
I need them. Right now the brackets show up on not only my document but also
the print preview but do not show on a real print. I need to eliminate them
as I am sending a professional resume as a Word Doc and not printing. I do
not want them to be seen. Help!

Well, right up to the last part, I would have sent you to “Margin marks or
crop marks appear on each corner of the page when you open a document in
Word 2002 or in Word 2003†at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=839371,
which will get rid of them on your system, but you have no control over how
your résumé is viewed on someone else's system. If you want to control the
appearance, send a PDF.
