Margin Setup

I am trying to set up a label for Avery 8 tab index and the directions are:
Top Margin 0.75" (po) When I go to set this up, my margin setup says Top
Margin 72 pt. What does pt stand for? What kind of measurement is it? I've
only started getting this since 2003 was installed. How can I convert it to
inches?

Tools, Options, General, Measurement Units, -> Inches.
