Margins that won't hold

[Utterly Frustrated]

I am using Word 2003 and and writing a book with 2 cm, 2 cm, 2 cm and 2.25 cm
margins. No matter what I do, when I scroll down to start a new chapter, the
margins change back to their original settings. How can I stop this without
either reformatting constantly or doing it after my book is finished?

What are you doing, exactly, to start a new chapter? Maybe you have been
changing the paragraph indentation instead of the margins?
