Hello,

I want to make a marital status in my church membership database. In English
how many status do you have.

1. Singgle,
2. Married.
and the others?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Ronaldo, but in Indonesia if the wife is dead the status name is
different with if the husband is dead. Is it just the same in English you
call it Widowed?.

Moreover, what is the differenct between Divorced and Separated?

Thanks for more explanation.

The word widowed applies to both male and female.
Divorced means you are no longer married, Separated means you are no longer
living together or with your married partner but are still legally married
because you have not divorced.

When applied in the first person,

A man is a widower (I am a widower)
A woman is a widow (I am a widow)

When applied in the third person, as Ronaldo says, they are widows.

Just for Clarity only

That should be

When applied in the third person, as Ronaldo says, they are widowed

The terminology - and the number of statuses - would be different in different
languages (and for that matter in different cultures). Your church might not
want to record marriages (or domestic partnerships) between same-sex couples,
but other organizations might, for instance; in Islamic and some other
societies, a woman might be a first wife or a third wife. Human relationships
are complicated!

That might depend on your church's views on marriage and divorce, but often,
such a list infers that "single" implies "never married", and includes
"Divorced". Some lists (I haven't seen these in any church DBs, but views
are quite inclusive in some churches, these days) will have other
designations... "Domestic Partner", "Transsexual, pre-op", "Transsexual,
post-op", etc..
