Mark a date in Project

Hi all
I need to flag / highlight dates in the Gantt view as specific events
such as YEAR-END FREEZE Start Date
this date ideally would be a vertical line of selected color / even
better would be a "zone" of color say from the 7 December through to
the 20 Jan
that would span all projects / sub projects - instead of a milestone
just showing in the 1 task line

any ideas?

Consider using a rectangle to shade the area of interest.
On the Drawing Toolbar, select the rectangle tool and draw it near where you
desire on the Gantt chart.

Right click on the rectangle and set the properties. On the Line and Fill
section you can select colors (I suggest something like yellow). On the Size
and Position tab you can marry the rectangle to a specific date on the time
scale or the task ID of specific task. Click OK.

If needed, right click on the rectangle again and use the "order" property
to send the rectangle to the back. This will allow your Gantt chart to show
in front.
