Mark as read when manually moving to a folder

When I read a message, I often drag it into a folder. With my Outlook
2007 the message remains unread after I move it.

How can I make Outlook understand that I've read the message without
manually marking it?

Tools - Options - Other - Reading Pane and change the settings to fit what
you need. Likely you'll need to check 'Mark item as read when selection
changes' or cut the amount of time down to 0 seconds so that it marks as
read immediately upon clicking.

I already had "Mark item as read when selection changes" checked. If I
click on email 1 and then click on email 2, email 1 is indeed marked
as read. But if I read email 1, drag it to another folder and read
email 2, it remains unread. Personally I think this is a bug.

That said, your suggestion about using the timed marking option will
probably work for me.

Thanks,
