We have a generic mailbox running 24/7 on a server that allows our field
users to send an inquiry. There is a rule running that has the server
generate an auto-reply. We were using Outlook 2000 until yesterday, when we
upgraded to Outlook 2003. Prior to the upgrade, when the auto-reply was
generated, the incoming message DID NOT show up in the Inbox with the little
reply symbol and the message marked as read. Since the upgrade, that happens
and it is causing a great deal of frustration because when one of the staff
who monitors the mailbox views the Inbox, the message appears to have been
answered. In addition when the user opens the message, a banner appears
showing that a reply was sent, which is obviously the auto-reply.
I've looked through the Rules Wizard and do not see an option to mark a
message as unread. My question...is there a way to mark the message as unread
so it appears with the envelope closed and bold even though there was an
auto-reply to it?
Thanks.
