Mark me slow but....

Hi Wickiup,

I don't recommend changing the font, but it is possible.

OneNote uses the system menu font for the section tab font. Changing that
font is possible - it's buried in the display options settings. The exact
steps vary depending on which version of windows you have. On my vista
machine, I right clicked the desktop, selected Personalize. Then I opened
the Windows Color and appearance link, then the "open classic settings" link
on that page.

There you can click the Advanced button and select the "Menu" dropdown
selection in the Item list. When you do that, you will see the font option
become enabled and you can change it here. On my system, the default is
Segoe Font at 9 point size.

The reason I don't recommend this is because this changes all menu items in
Windows. Feel free to experiment, but just make a note of what changes you
make so you can revert them if needed.

Thanks John, I will probably just put up with changing
fonts as needed.

Seems strange they would convolute things to that point.
I am using Win XP Home and a mix of Office 03 and 07.
I can set the default font in Word 07 with a few keystrokes.

I really like what OneNote does for me but it appears to be
written by a mix of folks with somewhat differing mindsets
and not quite sure what they wish to accomplish.

There's some miscommunication going on here I think.

You meant to ask how the change the default Page title font, and got an
answer about changing the font for the Tabs bit of the GUI.

Didn't you see John's warning?
Do you really want to change the overall appearance of Windows
throughout your system??

The same in OneNote.
You can change the "default" font for *editing* on ON (Tools > Options >
Editing).

And you can not change any of the system fonts in Word either - other
than changing the Windows settings.

A seriously wrong assumption, IMHO.
The fonts used in the GUI if OneNote are hardwired *system*fonts*.
As with all other Office applications the "look+ feel" of the interface
can not be changed.

Did you mean the default font for content on the page, or the font used by
the application to draw the page tabs on the top? I think John answered
the latter question.

The default font for content can be changed under Tools | Options |
Editing.

Yes, seems to be in your side.

No idea in what the OP might have *MEANT*.
What he said is clear as clear can be:
"Section names" are something totally different from a Page title.

Thanks to All of you good folks,

My question was not worded clearly but John seemed to pick up on it.
I thought this was discussed early on but I forgot the answer.

A very innovative program that has been squeezed for more situations than it
seems was first intended.
Looking forward to a "finished" version that incorporates all the new and
improved ideas and functions.

Not sure what you're saying. The ability to change the default system font
which is used in various parts of the operating system's UI has nothing to
do with the features included with OneNote. The fact that many people have
found uses for ON beyond classroom and corporate meeting notetaking tells
me that the program meets its goals of being flexible and easy to use.
