Marketing Campaign - Setting Criteria to exclude records used prev

I've used marketing campaigns in BCM to send a pilot mail shot to selected
contacts. Now I want to send another mailshot to other contacts but exclude
those used in the pilot. Is there are way of setting the criteria to exclude
the pilot group? I don't want to have to create a custom field,

Is this possible please?
