I'm trying to create a handout that contains a lot of text graphics and data
fields.
The handout will fit on two pages. How do I set the report layout to span 2
pages?

If I understand your question correctly, you design it to span one page that
is twice the size of your 'real' page. For example, for a report to span two
A5 portrait pages, you design it to span one A4 landscape page. To span two
A4 portrait pages, you design it to span one A3 landscape page.
