Marking or deleting duplicate entries

Using Excel XP SP3

I have 2 separate sheets of data coming from different time periods. Sheet
One has 1000 rows of data and Sheet 2 has 1600 rows of data.

Sheet One has some of the same data as sheet Two.
Sheet Two has some of the same data as sheet One.
Both have data that neither have.

I copied sheet two on the last row of sheet one, then I did a sort. I got
what I needed, plus what I didn't need, duplicate rows of data.

Can Excel XP identify these duplicate rows and delete just one of the
duplicate rows leaving the other untouched??? Maybe there is a better
method then copying and sort.

Hope I explained this so it can be understood.

Once you have the data combined and sorted to put all the duplicates
adjacent to each other, then you can use a helper column with a formula like
(assuming your data in column A and helper column is column B) but in
B2.....IF(A2=A1,1,0) and copy it down column B........then sort on column B
and all the 1's will be together and you can delete those rows, (ie the
duplicates)..........
