Markup shows in print preview but not on paper.

I am using the version of Word that comes with MS works: Word 2002
(10.6764.6735) SP3. Markup appears as expected in print preview, with
balloons or with strike out according to what I have selected from Tools -
Options - Track changes. But the actual printout on paper is the same
regardless of whether I select "Document showing markup" or just "Document":
just the current text, with no markup. If I have selected "Force landscape"
it even does that correctly (on paper but NOT in print preview), but with the
space where the balloons should be completely blank.

I've just registered for Passport in order to post this and couldn't see how
to enter my actual email address, so I accepted an "@passport.com" one, but I
should be grateful for anyone responding to this to copy their response to my
real email address, which is (e-mail address removed)

You'll get plenty of email from this post, but not the responses you expect.
When you registered for a Passport, you should have been required to provide
a real email address, and you must also provide one if you want
notifications of responses to your post.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what might be causing your problem, though I
would suspect that it might be printer driver-related.

Whatever the cause, the problem went away when I re-ran Word and reloaded the
document.

And I did provide my real email address when the website asked me to, later
in the process, after I had posted my query.
