I'm attempting to use the Office File Converter utility (ofc.exe) from the
Office Migration Planning Manager (OMPM) to mass convert several hundred
Office 2003 templates to Office 2007 templates.
The utility successfully migrates Excel .xlt templates to .xltm and .xltx
templates, but it doesn't seem to work for converting .dot templates to .dotm
or .dotx templates. It gives me an 'Error: unknown file type' message. I'd
rather not run those templates in compatibility mode.
Is this by design?
I can manually convert them by opening them and using the convert option in
Word 2007.
I've installed the Office Compatibility Pack as well as SP1 for the Office
Compatibility Pack.
