Hi

I have seen this error on the web, but with no resolutions.

When trying to connect a detail table to a master I get the error:

"The master that you picked is in an incorrect context"

Please any help would be greatly apprececiated.

I can provide the form and XSD on request. (e-mail address removed)

Much appreciated,

Hello,

For every Master Detail section we have ‘Master ID’ key for master table and
this ID we need to use for detail table. If this Master does not match if you
changed in manifest.xsf then it will give error message. Check it once Master
ID for Master Details table properties.

Hi Shiva

Thanks for your reply.

I have changed that MasterID of my master table. Infopath automatically
makes this available on the detail table. It is actually when selecting the
provided master id that the error occurs.

I am not sure about the manifest.xsf file reference. Where do I find it?

Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

HI Anuma

I have managed to extraxt my manifest file and looked for the MasterID as
suggested by Shiva.

I could not find it! I then changed my master table's ID and repeated the
process with the same result.

The fact that the master table's ID is not found in the manifest would
explain Shiva's resolution suggestion from before. Except now it seems that
the root cause is that the master table's MasterID is not persisted. Seems
really weird?

Would someone be prepared to look at my file in order to check my logic?

Many Thanks

Hi Anuma

The process you decsribe below is exactly what I have been doing.

I have started from scratch and used the automated process in Infopath for
created a Master/Detail desction directly from the XSD.

In this scenario Infopath creates a MasterID but does not link the detail
table to it. No error.

I have to conculde that my XSD is the problem and is somehow creating this
behaviour?

Aby thoughts?

Regards,

Carl-Hein
