Master/Detail :: Invalid Context Issue

I am trying to create a very simple Master/Detail form with Project and
'many' project details. When i Link the Detail table to the Master Id, i get
a message stating 'The Master you just picked is in an incorrect context'.
What is the reason for this? Any help please?

What relation do you have for the master detail? Is it a row relation or a
value relation?

Can you write the exact steps that you have followed to get yourself into
that situation?
