Your help is appreciated!! Oh...and I did do my best to search here,
and so far haven't found anything like this happening to anyone else.
I am finishing a book index using Word97's index feature. The book is
in Master Document format...about 12 subdocument chapters.
The index worked fine (all XE field coded...painstakingly) for a few
day's of work...but now, I find the index refuses to acknowledge coded
entries that are past a certain page (the page number changes each time
I generate the index, but it usually is in about the middle of my
400-page book).
In fact, I think even the entries it does generate are mixed up. In
other words, the whole index seems to be screwed up...and I cannot for
the life of me figure out what I may have done to change anything.
So: Anybody have clues on what could have caused this? Or even, how
can I troubleshoot this? (I just keep checking and re-checking field
codes, and they are all looking good...they just no longer "behave
correctly").
