OK. I've read all about not using master documents. So what do we do?
We need links to "constant" pages (sub documents) that are referenced by many other documents. For example: a "General Terms & Conditions" page which contains all of our legal disclaimers needs to be included in product manuals for all products that we sell. We want this info in one linked location so that any change here will automatically feed through to all manuals. Also, we have multiple users needing access to these files - to create new manuals & edit existing ones, but these pages are locked because they are sub documents.
We have had all the problems detailed here - page numbering, TOC, changing styles, locked documents, etc. Using Word 2002 for XP Pro.
