Master link to shape instance on drawing

I have never seen this 'feature' work in 2002 and I have just installed 2003
have the same problem. I created a new stencil and developed new master
shapes for it. I drag any of the shapes to the drawing then make a change to
the master on the stencil and the change does not propagate to the shape
instance on the drawing.

Why does this not work?

are you making the change on the stencil that holds the master or on the
document stencil from which changes are copied? File => Shapes => Show
Document Stencil

Got it. It was not clear that the changes had to be made from the document
stencil.
