Hi,

I have a masterplan with several pubprojects, i WANT to be able to view the
masterplan in Webaccess. showing all milestones in subprojects. However at

Help?!?!

Thanks,

When you save a master project in the Project Server database, and select it
in a Project Center view, the system shows only the subprojects, but does
not show the detail for each subproject. This is a limitation of the
system. Sorry.

I do not know of any way around this, except to view the entire master
project in Microsoft Project Professional. Hope this helps.

Hello "towski"
I do not have a reply to your question but rather another question(s)...We
have been wanting to use the Master Plan concept with our implementation of
EPS 2003 however, the MS Documentation strongly recommends not creating
Master plans using project server as well as our EPS implementation
consultant who also strongly recommended not creating Master Plans in EPS -
therefore we have not tried.....How is this in general working for you and
can you point me to any documentation on how to actual do this using EPS
environment?

You can safely create and save master projects in the Project Server
database, but you should NEVER EVER publish a master project. Doing so can
result in duplicate task assignments for every resource assigned to tasks in
every subproject of the master project. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale. This clarification is helpful. I was thinking the info meant to
not use Master projects - but it is really the publishing that is the
problem. That is half of my problem - I guess we could use the master project
approach for estimating overall and Viewing consolidated project info...will
do trial run on test data.
Thanks!
