Master project - not responding

I created a small local master project plan with local subprojects as a test,
that when I go to close it seems to lock. I get the error message that says
it is not responding. When I use task manager to end the application, it
doesn't stop it. I usually have to reboot. Any ideas on what may be causing
this?
