Master Project / Resource Usage Gantt

1.
I have a big number of Sub-projects in a master project file and it takes a
lot of time to level after I open the file. I spend nearly an hour opening 45
files. Is there a better way out? I cannot split the master projects file
further because I need some consolidated information. Is there a way I can
save sub-projects with all the levelling effects so that I don't have to
level again when I open the master project file? Will opening the resource
pool file (I work on Project Pro 2003 without the Project Server) in write
mode help?
2. Is it possible to generate a Resource Usage Gantt. By that I mean, the
Resource Usage View on the left and the Gantt on the right side. I do not
want the Gantt with any task associated view. I find that all Gantt Charts
are only associated with Tasks and not resources. Can it be achieved with VBA
Code?

Hi,

If you spend so much time opening the master you may have parasitic files
linked to your resource pool.
Open the pool, check Tools, Resoruces, Share Resources, and overlook
carefully the adresses of the linked files; more often than not, several of
these addresses no longer exist and when opening, the pool looks for them
for ages.

When the subprojects are saved, the saved version includes leveling effects.

As for question 2, as such the answers are no sorry and no sorry.
You can achive something near to what you want through filtering, sorting
and grouping a Gantt Chart, and isn't the Resource Usage View close to it as
well?
