Master Projects Cause Project to Crash

Hi,

We are trying to make use of master projects where I work, but every time we
make a change in durations or try to remove a link between two of the
subprojects in the master project, Project crashes. Literally every time.

Anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?

One thought might be:

Uncheck the "Load summary resource assignments" check-box that is on
the account login dialog box. Note: you need to manually select
account to access this dialog box.

This eliminated my crashes.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your help. I couldn't find what you were talking about.
When I log into Project Server, I don't see a box that says "Load summary
resource assignments" in my login dialog box. (The box that says "Project
Server Accounts") Are you using Project Server 2003? If so, where do I find
this checkbox, exactly?

The checkbox has been renamed. Now it is called "Connecting across a WAN."

Just a note: "Connecting across a WAN" is displayed intially with Project
Pro. But "Load Summary Resource Assignments" is displayed after you install
Service Pack 1 for Project Pro. If you still see "Connecting across a WAN",
you may want to load SP1.
