Master Projects With Date Changes On Inserted Project

I have created a master project with inserted read only to view projects.
The master project is maintained on our network while the inserted projects
are maintained on Project server 2003.

The project managers maintain their projects on the server and publish
changes as they make them.

I have a random issue where in the master project in most cases start and
finish date changes will be reflected in the master after the specific
project plan is published. In some other cases the date change will not
appear until I expand the inserted project. This behavior is not consistent
but occurs randomly. Or seems to. I have a master with over 100 inserted
projects and what I am forced to do is expand all the projects before I can
get a true picture of the start and finish dates. Of course the expansion
usually takes some time to complete, as it has to open each and every project
plan.

The other interesting observation is that if I look at the Resource Usage
view before expansion the date changes are reflected correctly.

Any idea what may be happening?

Thanks

Jerry:

It is the standard behavior of Master Projects to refresh data only when the
projects are expanded. Any data you may see in project prior to expansion,
means that it was there the last time the project was opened.
