Master resource pool on network drive

Is there anyway to share a master resource pool on a network drive while
keeping the sharer files on local drives and without implementing project
server?

Yes but I don't recommend it! Any network glitch and you are likely to end
up with corrupted files!

I prefer creating weekly snapshots by inserting projects into a blank
project with the link option deselected. This copies all tasks and
consolidates Resource information and create a weekly audit trail and there
are no links between projects so no corruption risk. I record macros to make
the creation process painless and quick. Make sure the first recorded action
is File, New!!
