Master schedule crashes

Hi folks,
I really need help in resolving this as the program is crashing.
I created a Master Project in one category- with 5 to 6 tasks and saved it
to Server 2007. Make a note that no resources were assigned or pulled from
the resource pool

I opened this master project and inserted another project which is also on
the same server. When I try to save this master project, the application is
kicking me off. The success rate of saving this master project is close to
25%.

The Master Prj is saving without any error when I perform the same procedure
for the files but save all of them on to local computer

Any suggestions!

You may have a corruption problem. Try deleting the master project then
re-creating it. Make sure all sub-projects are freshly saved and published
first (this shouldn't be necessary, but who knows?!).

Hi Gill,
I already deleted master project. Recreated from the begining.
Now there are several sub projects and not sure saving them freshly will
resolve the problem.

Because for one or two of them I tried and still the problem is occurs.

Do you think it has something with the resource pool. The resources for all
the sub projects are pulled from active directory. Because, at one instance,
I remember removing the resources assigned to the task and tried saving it.
At that time it didnt crash.

Also, this master schedule is mapped as a sub-project to another master
schedule.
Do you think that might be a reason? I really am not able to figure it out.
Because at one point, there was only one master project and other projects
are made as sub-projects.

If the sub-projects are corrupted, at the very first place how can they be
saved and published on to the server successfully?

Also tried saving the sub-projects to another server. But what I did is, took
off the resources which were assigned to the tasks in each project.
I inserted these projects into my master project and boom, it didnt crash.
Was able to save it successfully.

Any guidence?

So all your resources are local (as far as Project Professional is
concerned) and not Enterprise Resources? What happens if you use Enterprise
resources?

No the resources are enterprise resources only. The only difference is, these
even though they are in the resource sheet (retrieved from active directory-
i am thinking this means they are enterprise resources), the tasks werent
assigned any resources.

I tried almost 5 or 6 such sub-projects. These projects crashed when the
resources were assigned to the tasks and then added to a master project. But
these same files didnt crash, when the resources were removed for the tasks.

Any advise would be of great help, as I have been struggling to fix this
since long time...

I realize that English isn't your first language, but the way this reads,
you are adding resources to your project plans directly from AD rather than
the resource pool. This is a fundamental mis-step and likely the source of
your problem.
