master schedule will not open - possible corruption

Recently our server locked up while projects were checked out. The server
was rebooted, then after checking the projects back in most work as they
should however the master schedule will not open. An error pops up saying
"an error has occurred" and wants you to send a report to microsoft. It will
open in read only mode however. Any troubleshooting suggestions would be
greatly appreciated. Is it possible to restore just this master schedule
instead of restoring the entire project database?

I would recommend that you delete the master project from the Project Server
database and then recreate it. If you created cross-project dependencies
between the subprojects in the master project, those links are saved in each
subproject individually, so deleting the master project will not affect the
subprojects. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input Dave. We'll give that a try. Is it possible for a
master schedule to be too large? Just wondering if there are limitations or
best practices we should consider when building these. The master schedule
was the only one out of a bunch of open projects that had this problem and
the only real difference was the complexity with a lot of subprojects.
Thanks again for the help.

My name is Dale, but you can call me Dave if you prefer! :)

I don't really know what happened with your master project, but I doubt it
was too big. Glad to help.
