Master Slide Information not Displaying on Slides

I have a master slide set up which has information in the footer. If I apply
the master to a previous slide presentation, the footer information does not
display. If I add a new slide, then it does.

Hi Jennifer

What version are you using and what version was the previous presentation
created in? Oh and just in case - there's nothing on the slide that could be
covering the footer? Select something on a slide without the footer and hit
tab - you will cycle through all the elements on the slide which should tell
you if the footer is there but hidden/has same font colour as background.
