Master Task List

How can I create a master task list that can be applied to multiple
projects and the have the tasks remain independent of each other.
Im a wedding photographer, and the workflow for each client is pretty
much the same. I would like to have a default set of task that can be
added to a new project for each client.
I had read a archieved post that mentioned duplicating the project
and
then changing the task due date. I can not duplicate a project! When
I go to Edit>Duplicate project nothing happens. I have also tried the
key command still nothing. Found archieved post of user with same
problem, never recieved an answere.

I have never dealt with microsoft support before, is this really the
only non-paying support?

My last post might not have been so clear, so Im reposting.

iMac G5, Entourage 2004 version 11.3.3

TIA
Bob

This has also been posted on the Entourage group, which is a better
place for it, so best to look for responses there.

I agree that the Entourage group is a better place to post, but there
is very little activity on that group.
I also posted here due to the higher activity. The other post has been
up for just about 24 hrs and has yet to be responded to, while I got
your post in about an hour. If only you had something constructive to
add.

Thanks
Bob

You could try this: In the Project Manager window, select "New" from the
File menu and "Project" as the submenu, to start a new project. Name it,
and continue. In the second window, you will see an option to import
items from an existing project. This is how you can duplicate a project.

I have done this but the tasks remain linked.
If I have 7 clients with tasks added this way, if I check off an item
for client #1 it would check off for all 7.
I need a way to create a master that will that can be used
independently for each client.
In iCal, I can simply highlight all the tasks, go to the next client
and paste them in, they are the same list of tasks but they are not
linked to each other.
Seems that there shlould be some way to do this. Well ast least I
hope so.

Thanks for the reply, if Im missing a step in your process please let
me know.

Normally the Entourage group has more traffic than the Office list. I didn't
respond because I didn't have an answer. This is the first time I've seen
this request.

Try creating the tasks as generic. When you import them into the project
open each and rename giving them a number to correspond with the current
project. Now your originals will remain generic and your new ones will be
unique to the project.

Paul Berkowitz's Export Import scripts (shareware) work with tasks and it
might be possible to use his scripts to do what you want.
