Matching Office ID to certifiacte of authenticity

Jason

Hello,

I need to tie up the installed versions of Mac Office 2004 to the boxes in
which they came. Unfortunately I can't see how to tie up the product ID in
the "About Word" dialog to anything on the Microsoft Certificate of
Authenticity. Can anyone help?

Thanks, Jason.

MacOffice has a certificate of authenticity?

Anyhow, the basic answer is no--no one here knows how to tell which serial
number/cd key/license number/installation code/product key produced a
certain Product ID.

If you want to re-assign installation codes and write down which was used
where, you can do that without reinstalling using the tutorial here:

http://www.mcgimpsey.com/macoffice/office/pid.html

If you used the same installation code on two computers, then the product ID
on those two will differ only in the last 5 digits, the rest of it will be
the same. Still can't tell which code it was, though.
