Max No of Contacts? Error when importing.

I'm trying to import 8,000 records from Outlook Express 6 into the Contacts
folder of Outlook 2003 via CSV format, which seem like the only option that
will work with the 2003 version of Outlook.

The import crashes Outlook about 3/4 through the import and only 5,908
records successfully import. Is 5,908 the max the Contacts folder can handle,
or is there another way? Would Business Contact Manager hold more?

I also tried using Outlook 2007 with the CSV file and had the same results.
I did try the import option available in Outlook 2007 that allows you to
import directly from the OE6 file, but it looked like this process would take
all night and I didn't want to wait for it until I knew they would all go in.
Will this option work?

"Import crashes Outlook" - error message that you encountered? 5908 is
certainly is not the limit to the number of contacts so more then likely
that it's related to the contents of contact #5909 that the import wizard
doesn't like especially if it's happening in 2 versions of Outlook which use
the same import/export wizard.

If you delete the contact record in the CSV file that immediately follows
the last successfully imported contact - does the problem persist?

File>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail and Addresses work better than
the method you've chosen.

An Outlook folder will hold 64,000 items. Use Outlook's built-in Outlook
Express importing.
