Maximize Windows -

P

Pam

OK.

I've read every post about this, but cannot find an answer that fixes my
problem.

One day, I inadvertently expanded my taskbar that is at the bottom of the
window up a notch. I was in a Publisher file at the time.

It make the Publisher file shrink by the amount of space that the taskbar
took up when moved up.

OK. So I maximized the page and went on working.

But SINCE then, everytime I open a Publisher file, it is the same size as
the document before I maximized it.

I have opened a document, sized it and closed it.
I have opened a document, used the maximize button and closed it.
I have opened a document, maximized and SAVED the document and closed it.

But NONE of these tells my system to open ALL documents in the maximized mode.

Sometimes the next document I open will be maximized and sometimes the next
document I open won't. Sometimes, even the document I just resized won't
maximize if I open it RIGHT AFTER having closed it.

It's getting VERY frustrating as I work on about 225 documents a month (some
3 or 4 times each) and to have to manually do this is really frustrating.

Someone please tell me that there is a simple answer to this.

Thanks
Pam

Have you tried right-clicking the program icon, properties, select "maximized"
in the run dialogue? Mine is set at normal window. Publisher always opens
maximized with this setting.

Once you have it maximized, start, Microsoft Office Tools, run the "save my
settings wizard".

Hi Mary

I don't understand what you mean by right-clicking the program icon.
Is this in My Computer or is this the icon on my desktop for the actual file?
I'm sorry, I don't understand.

Hi Mary, thanks while waiting for your response I did that.

I went through the steps and did what you said.

Opened a document and it was maximized.

However, about 5 documents later, it happened again.

I went back and looked at the run command and it said maximize (which is
what I set it to).

So I'm still not sure what's going on.

So to recap, it worked for a few documents, but then failed again one a few.

Also, now when I am in the internet and open a webpage, any link I click on
makes the window the same size as the documents.

Please help.

Pam

Also... if you maximize and then close by File | Exit it will retain it's
maximization when opened again....iow; *not using the Red X to close.

Is your x red?

If Pam uses the "Save My Settings Wizard" in Microsoft Office Tools, it may
stick too.
