Maximum characters per cell

Straight out of help:-

Length of cell contents (text) 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display in a cell; all
32,767 display in the formula bar.

From Help Excel allows 32,767 characters in a cell but will show or print only
1024(see Help>Specifications).

One workaround is to spread a few ALT + ENTER's at spots. This will increase
the amount shown. Don't know how far this will go.

Before you take Help or my suggestion literally you may find some
enlightenment regarding the limitations of text in a cell in this google
search result.
