Maximum hours worked per day

i) Customize Project Web Access (Left Menu)
ii) Under Track Settings, Time Period Settings,

There is a setting that allows set max hrs per day.

It is under "Maximum number of hours that can be entered
per day for a single task (enter '0' for no limit):
