Maximum number of entries in distribution list

Is there a maximum number of entries that can be in a
single distribution list in Outlook 2000? A user was
having problems after a couple hundred.

Not in Outlook. Those limits are set by the mail server.

did you try it ???

we have a limit by Outlook NOT by exchange NOR OWA at 600-700 contacts in a
distribution list.
(if the distribution list comes from a contact folder or do you mean a
distribution list from the AD ???)

above 600-700 you couldn´t open delete or modify the mail with outlook !

Of course I've tried it.
Outlook as a standalone client to Internet Mail transports set no such
limit.
Outlook as a client to Exchange Server is another matter entirely.
