Maximum number of PST files in Outlook 2007

I understand that 128 PST files were maximum that could be opened in
Outlook 2003. Has that number gone up in Outlook 2007? Each file is
about 4 GB if that matters. Thanks.

That would give in excess of 500gb, which I would imagine would lead to all
sorts of issues, if possible

I don't believe Microsoft has published a limit on the number of PSTs.
