Maximum page size?

Are there max dimensions for a word document?
I was hoping to use layout mode to create a poster for a scientific conference, but I can't seem to make any dimensions larger than 24"
When I go into page setup, and create a custom paper size, it will let me enter any page size. If I enter 24x36, I am shown a 24x24 workspace when I start to work on the document.
Any ideas?

Yes, there are. I thought it was 22", rather than 24", but it certainly
can't do 36".

I think Powerpoint does not have this limitation--you might try that?

It probably is 22, I just didn't squint too hard at the guides.
I'll see how powerpoint does.
