Maximum path length in '97

Hi,

In Outlook 97, when trying to attach a file that has a
long path, I get an error about a lack of system resources.

I assume that this is because the maximum path length has
been reached.

Does anyone know how many characters the maximum path
lenght is, and if there is the same limitation in later
versions of outlook?
