McAfee Security Centre upgrade, Outlook not receiving emails

J

I recently downloaded and installed an upgraded version of McAfee Security
Centre. I usually deal with my emails through Outlook. I have 6 working
email addresses, or I did until the upgrade, now they all send but only one
will receive. The message I get is Reported error 0x8004210A: The operation
timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you
continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or ISP.
ISP says cannot help, contact Microsoft; Microsoft says contact computer
maker (Dell). Incidentally, I can send/receive perfectly in Outlook
Express, but all my files are in Outlook and I would much rather use that.
Any help gratefully received. Thank you

Thank you Robert. I would be very grateful if you could tell me how to do
that! I'm losing confidence fast here. I did try re-installing the McAfee
Security Centre, but I still seem to have a problem.

I don't use McAfee products so I don't know but I know it is possible. It
can either be accomplished through the Control Panel of McAfee and/or by
uninstalling the mail scanning component. You could also contact McAfee
support to guide you through the process.

Conquerered McAfee Nightmare

I also experienced the same issue after installing McAfee. McAfee and Dell
wanted to charge me money to assist me in fixing this problem. What a scam!
I was able to resolve the problem by going to Tools, email accounts, view or
change existing accounts, and removing the existing account and adding a new
one. It worked!!! Make sure you know your incoming and outgoing servers
(POP3 and SMTP). Good luck!
