MDAC 2.8 Causes Error in ADP Connection to server

Hi All,

Just checking is someone has just got the same error as I
did.

I have installed MDAC 2.8 and since then when starting
Access 2002 and trying to use the File > Connection from
the menu I get the following error :

"Microsoft Access could not log on to the server. Verify
that the log on information is correct"

It was all running before the MDAC 2.8 install and I am
connecting to a local MSDE on the same machine.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

I opened a database in Access 2002. I went to File. I do not see a entry
"Connection from" in the drop down. Can you explain exactly what you did to
get to this option? Thanks.

Dear All,

I have tried to rollback the MDAC 2.8 unsuccessfully.

There after I have tried numerous things with no success
It seems something was missing so I tried to patch up the
PC with the latest Hot fixes first.

I have noticed that some MDAC hot fixes where not applied
on my machine.

So I have made sure KB Q823718 and Q326573 are OK and the
patch you need is:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-
033.asp

Once you have installed this all is OK and All SQL Server
Connections are OK.

Hope it helped you I have wasted 2 days on this.
