I have a local website set up on my Win 2000 machine. The site uses an
Access database to retrieve data for display via ASP pages. Everything was
working fine until recently (I think an installation of a new version of
Earthlink broke it). Now, when I attempt to access my database from an ASP
page in IE, I get the following error message:
ADODB.Connection (0x800A0E7A)
Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed.
I ran Component Checker against my MDAC and it reported version mismatches
under "File Details" for the following: msadce.dll, msadco.dll, msadcs.dll,
msdaprst.dll, odbc32.dll, odbccp32.dll and the following mismatches under
"Com Details": msdasql.dll (three separate occurrences). Would this cause
the error? I tried downloading and reinstalling MDAC 2.5 SP3 but it aborted
with a message that the version already exists. Any suggestions on how to
fix this?
My environment: Win 2000 SP4, MDAC 2.5 SP3, ODBC Desktop Driver Pack 3.5
Thanks/Randall
