mdb file is growing very fast

The Access application is split into two mdb files -- one
contains the software and the other contains the data. I
am experiencing a problem with the software mdb file. It
is growing very fast -- up to one gig in one day. I am
not expecting any growth in this mdb file.

Is there something within MS Access 97 that can use up
this much space?

I have tried compressing and repairing -- it brings the
size back down, but, as users come on to the system, the
rapid growth re-occurs.

Hi

Do you distribute the Frontend (one containing the software i.e. forms,
reports etc.) to each user's workstation? If not you may want to consider
that.

The front-end is stored on an application server where all
users access the one copy.

Hi

Bloating will always happen on the Frontend. Having one frontend shared by
many users probably makes bloating worse. If at all possible, you should
consider distributing the Frontend to the users.
