Hello support,
We installed Vista Business edition & Office Pro 2003 - SP2 on a 1.8GHz
laptop for testing.
The installation both O/S and Office Pro 2003 went smoothly without errors.
We are having problems opening .mdb files on the laptop with any other user
other than the one it was created under including the Super User
Administrator account.
This was discovered while e-mailing the .mdb file to another programmer for
testing / troubleshooting when the received file was opened it was blank /
empty.
We have re-verified that the file has data in it by re-opening with user
account and seeing the data fields populated.
We have checked permissions on the file / folder and it is set for Full
Control to all users.
Isn't it is also strange that we cannot open the .mdb file from the Vista
laptop itself under the Super User Administrator account ?
We tried to copy the .mdb file to a Shared Network Folder with full
permissions to all users and the file opened up blank / empty while
attempting to open the file with PC's using Win XP Pro & W2K Pro workstations
with Office 2000 Pro and Office 2003 Pro with the same results - blank /
empty. (even with the Vista laptop logged in as the file creator user
account) while other .mdb files created with other PC's and O/S's can be
opened and shared throughout our network this one cannot.
We receive no error messages while the file is being opened it just opens
blank / empty.
tia advance for your time and consideration in helping to resolve this issue.
