I've got a System DSN for a local SQL Server 2000 SP4 on an XP Pro SP2 box.
I can open an mdb file that links to this DSN fine if I start Access 2003 as an
Administrator.
If I start Access 2003 as a non-administrator, it will not give me an error of:
Microsoft Office Access
ODBC - connection to 'xxxDsn' failed.
I've tried creating the DSN with 'login ID' and password. Although the 'test
connection' button works, I'm not sure it is really saving the password - as the
mdb cannot use this DSN even as Administrator.
I can use Enterprise Manager to work on SQL Server when I'm not logged in as
Administrator.
If I set up the DSN 'with Windows NT authentication' - the mdb will work if I'm
the Administrator.
How can I resolve this issue?
