MDE before splitting DB?

If I want to make my FE an MDE file instead of a MDB file to secure my code,
do I need to do this before I split the database? I ask b/c I'm trying to
make the FE an MDE file now but it's grayed out. ????

It doesn't make sense to make an MDE before splitting, since MDEs don't do
anything to data, just to programming elements.

If your fileformat i Access 2000 and you're using Access XP/2002 you can't.
You must use Access 2000 to create a Access 2000 MDE.
