.mde on server for 20 users corrupts quickly

I've tried to store the .mde on the server and have the
desktops access it through the network. This allows me to
do quicker updating for many users. Unfortunately, I am
experiencing corruption of the .mde surprisingly quickly.
Is this usual?
Do I need to return to storing the .mde on the desktops
and use some FE updater to handle the updates?

Is there some alternative method that I can use?

Thanks for the quick reply and good advice.
And thanks again for the web site.
I see that we will have to go to an .mde on each computer.
I think this is rather clumsy, but ya gotta go with what
works.
