meaning of webding symbols

When you look at the symbol, it should be apparent what they mean

: does anybody know the meaning of the different symbols in the webding
fonts?

Oh really? Have you even looked at all of them? And if you know what they
mean, why don't you share it instead of answering with a smart-aleck reply...

If you select your font type of WingDings, type the alphbet (lower and upper
case), and then make the font size larger (36 point or higher), I found that
I can see the symbols better.

I also found a partial list of the symbols at
http://www.alanwood.net/demos/wingdings.html

Hope that helps.

They're not so much symbols as they are little cartoons.

One's a spider, for example, and another's a spider web.

No universal symbolic meaning to either. As Freud said, sometimes a cigar is
just a cigar.

(Except when it's a spider)
