Measureing Tools

It seems while I am working with Visio using the measuring tools to space
shapes,
suddenly the measureing tools quit working. They don't push the shap around
when I enter the new value.
All that happens is the new value is displayed on the measuring tool, and
nothing moves. Even I manually move the shape, the measurement I put into the
measuring tool stays the same.
What is going on?

Has the measuring tool become unglued from the shapes? What happens if
you delete the tool and drop a new one on the diagram and re-glue the
ends to the shapes?

Just to clarify, which shape are you using from which stencil?

No they are not coming unglued.
I have tried to delete the tool and dropping a new one. They all don't work
then.
I have to close Visio completely.
When I re load it works fine.
