measuring lines in document

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

In the 2004 and earlier versions, I always had a count at the bottom of the page that told me how far down the page my curser was. In the 2008 version, it's not there, and I can't figure out how to add it.

Please help!

Yeah, that's one of the things that got "left out" of Word 2008, either
intentionally or inadvertently:)

Please join the throng & go to Help> Send Feedback to express your dismay in
an effort to have the Status Info returned to the [Lack of] Status Bar. The
more requests, the more likely it is to be restored (so have all your
friends do the same).

Sorry. MS removed it--it's the Line Number, by the way. Nothing you can do.

Tell them you want it back via Help | Send Feedback in Word. If they get
enough complaints, perhaps it will happen. You might explain what you
used it for, so that they understand why it is important.
